What are the application and casting products made from the sand casting process?

Sand casting has wide applications in automotive, aerospace, medical, printing, sanitary, home, agricultural, electrical and electronic, mining, military and machine tool industries.

The sand casting product list is as follows:

a) Automobile Industry

    e) Aerospace Industry

    • The housing of aircraft engines, propellers, aircraft bearings and bushing.
    • Impellers and intake and exhaust manifolds of aircraft engines.

    f) Electrical and Electronic Industry

    • Electrical equipment and hardware.
    • Motor casing and covers.

Small prototype green casting is produced using single-piece patterns to large-size low-cost casting in green sand with a skeleton pattern.

Complex small casting uses a match plate pattern and loose piece pattern.

Symmetrical casting such as bells is manufactured using a sweep pattern with loam sand.

Large-size casting is possible to produce using this process that is used in various industries. I have written a separate article explaining the advantages of sand casting that engineers can read to know more about the uses of sand casting.
